The 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Tour to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is an ideal package for trekking the endangered mountain gorillas of Uganda. Enjoy a trek through the impenetrable jungle of Bwindi, home to the highest number of mountain gorillas in the world with La Reve Gorillas Uganda. The trip starts and ends in Kampala/Entebbe, Uganda.
Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park
Your journey begins early in the morning, as your knowledgeable driver-guide from La Reve Gorillas Uganda picks you up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe International Park. After a quick briefing on the tour, embark on a 7-8 hours’ drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Enjoy a stopover at the Uganda equator for photography and refreshments. Travel through Ankole cattle farms, rolling hills, community villages, and traditional centers en route to Bwindi Forest. Stopovers to purchase roadside roasted muchomo, maize, and fresh fruits add to the fun! Overnight stay in Bwindi Forest National Park.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Tour
The long-awaited day to trek the endangered mountain gorillas is finally here! Wake up early, refresh, and have a hearty breakfast at your lodge. Pack your lunch, and transfer to the respective Park headquarters where you will be registered and briefed on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. The park wardens will group you with eight others and allocate a gorilla family to visit. The hike to see the gorillas starts at 8:00 am, trekking up and downhill in search of the endangered species. The actual time to spend in the jungle is not specific but varies between 2-8 hours depending on the speed of the slowest person in your group and the location of the gorillas that day. On your trek to meet the gorillas, you may encounter other wild animals in Bwindi Forest such as Forest Elephants, baboons, and colobus monkeys, as well as various bird species. Spend an hour with a gorilla family, observe the silverback defending his family members while adult mothers feed babies. Maintain a 10-meter distance from the gorillas to take pictures and capture live videos of these close relatives of humans. In the evening, visit Batwa cultural villages to learn about their traditional forest lives and how they lived in harmony with wild animals for thousands of years before they were evicted from the forest. Enjoy the rest of the evening at your lodge in the middle of the jungle.
Day 3: Departure
This is your last day in Bwindi forest. Enjoy your morning sleep and wake up to a spiced hot cup of coffee. Check out and embark on a drive back to Kampala for your connecting flight to your next destination. End of the tour.
