Day 1: Arrival
Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, our professional guide will greet you and provide a brief overview of the safari. You will then be escorted to your hotel to rest after your journey. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
After breakfast at the lodge/hotel, you’ll embark on a journey to Nyungwe Forest National Park. This park is renowned for its chimpanzees and other primate species. Nyungwe Park boasts the largest montane forest in East Africa, home to various primate species and birds. Upon arrival, have lunch and embark on an evening nature walk to observe the diverse bird and primate life. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe & Canopy Walk
Start your day with breakfast at the lodge before heading to the park offices for a briefing on chimpanzee tracking guidelines. Trek into the forest to track these fascinating creatures and spend an hour observing and photographing them. After lunch, experience the unique Canopy Walk, a suspended walkway above the forest canopy. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Nyungwe to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, depart for Volcanoes National Park, home to Rwanda’s mountain gorillas. Enjoy the scenic drive through rolling hills and lush vegetation. Check in to your lodge, relax, and enjoy dinner and overnight accommodations.
Day 5: Gorilla Tracking
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla tracking guidelines. Trek into the forest to track one of the habituated gorilla families. Spend an hour with the gorillas, observing their behavior and taking photos. After tracking, return to the starting point, have lunch, and then head back to Kigali. Arrive at the airport in the evening for your departure.
